Indian Pottery by Potter: Chevelle Adams

This young Lady produces pottery with traditional Catawba clay. Since she has been exposed to the works of several Catawba Master Potters, she has been taught to work according to traditional Catawba Indian Methods. Chevelle is still learning to make traditional Catawba vessels but is not restricted to traditional forms and has shown great promise with her innovative designs, learning to master this art is a slow and detailed process, she has quickly excelled in this difficult art form, I can truly say I expect to see her work become finer with the experience she gains. As a child Chevelle was told that her family may have “Blackfoot” Indian in their background and she has always shown an interest in Native American Culture.
